CCTV images released of robbers who stole watches from Tag Heuer shop at Cheshire Oaks

CCTV images show the moment three armed robbers made off with thousands of pounds worth of watches and jewellery.

Brandishing hammers and a samurai sword, the thieves stole luxury watches and jewellery from Cheshire Oaks’s Tag Heuer store last Monday and escaped on one motorbike.

Detectives arrested and interviewed a 24-year-old man from Ellesmere Port, on Thursday, February 24. He was granted bail pending further investigation until April 7.

Staff at the shop were closing at 7.50pm on Monday when the gang burst through the front door. After threatening staff they smashed glass display cabinets and stuffed several watches valued at £20,000 into hessian shopping bags.

The men, who arrived and left on a motorbike left at the front of the store during the robbery, are described as follows:

The first offender had a large build, was dressed in a navy-blue zipped jacket and a light- grey hat.

The second had concealed his face and was dressed in a dark fleece top and blue tracksuit bottoms.

The third wore a motorcycle helmet with distinctive purple stripe that he did not remove.

Although shaken by their ordeal the staff were uninjured.

The motorbike used in the robbery was later found abandoned near to the A5117.

DC Pete Jones said police are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the men.

He added: “Similarly, I would be keen to speak to anyone who has been offered an expensive designer Tag watch for sale, or anyone who has any knowledge of where the stolen watches are now.”

Police are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may recognise the distinctive crash helmet worn by one of the men.
