A COMMUNITY project is offering householders in Blacon free thermal imaging surveys of their homes.
Sustainable Blacon is committed to helping householders lower their energy bills and reduce carbon emissions by identifying the key points to insulate homes and prevent heat loss.
Home energy officer Peter Reed said: “Knowing exactly how and where to insulate your home can help make considerable savings in energy bills.
“A thermal imaging survey of your home uses an infrared camera to show you exactly where to improve your home insulation.
“The images reveal where insulation is missing, settled, wet or damaged and can also identify where cold air is coming through your walls.”
The Sustainable Blacon home energy assessment team, based at Dee Point Centre, is now available to perform home energy audits and thermal imaging surveys.
These are free to residents of Blacon and are also available outside of the area for a small fee.
