Sign up now for the 2011 Liverpool-Chester Bike Ride in aid of Claire House

SPONSORS have been confirmed for the 2011 Liverpool-Chester Bike Ride.

The event – organised by Pennine Events Ltd – is now part of an initiative to turn Liverpool into a healthier city by 2020.

One of the event supporters Liverpool Primary Care Trust (PCT), together with a number of partner organisations, have just launched 2020 Decade of Health and Wellbeing.

The decade follows on from 2010 Year of Health and Wellbeing, and will encourage people to take some small steps towards a healtheir, happier life.

The PCT is working with its partners to promote better physical and mental health, the annual Liverpool-Chester Bike Ride now being one of them.

The Liverpool-Chester Bike Ride takes place on Sunday, July 3 and is the only cycle event in the country to include nearly three miles underground, and with four different routes to choose from.

Supporting the event for the 18th year, Merseytravel will be closing the Birkenhead (Queensway) Tunnel to allow the cyclists to ride through traffic free.

Claire House Children’s Hospice are the new charity for 2011, and with their support the ride is hoping to raise record amounts of money.

Entry is now open for the Liverpool-Chester Bike Ride. Visit www.liverpoolchesterliverpool.com for details.
