Eddisbury MP Stephen O’Brien vows to protect public access to Delamere Forest

nEDDISBURY MP Stephen O’Brien has vowed to protect public access to Delamere Forest.

The International Development Minister, who attended Friday’s meeting having only just landed back from a Government trip to Africa, described the beauty spot as a ‘wonderful playground for me as a boy’.

Mr O’Brien added: “I share the determination to protect and enhance the public access.

“Any other approach would not be desirable.”

Campaigner Robin Ackerley said: “All credit to him for coming and facing the music. We’re very grateful.”

Weaver Vale MP Graham Evans says he has been given assurances that Delamere Forest will not be taken away from the public.

He said: “I would be absolutely appalled at the idea of Delamere Forest being fenced off to the public or being completely destroyed.”
