Louise Owen presents charity cash after fundraising event at stables
LOUISE Owen, wife of premier league footballer Michael Owen, has presented a cheque to an equine charity.
The donation, presented to Tracy Lyons from the Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Centre (TRC), was raised at an owner’s weekend at the couple’s Manor House Stables in Malpas.
The event included an open morning with a charity auction and raffle.
Prizes included a signed Manchester United shirt and tickets to see Kylie Minogue. A total of £1,000 was raised, divided equally between the horse charity and Alder Hey Children’s hospital.
Louise is a patron of the TRC and is actively involved in the retraining of racehorses.
Mike Foster, racing manager of Deva Racing at Manor House, said: “It was a great effort by our owners.
“As always we have had generous support from Michael and Louise Owen and it is great that we could raise money for a charity so close to Louise’s heart.
“The open morning went really well, our trainer Tom Dascombe and his teams offer owners a real welcome.”
