Breast Cancer Care recruits walkers for Pink Ribbonwalk at Cholmondeley Castle

A CHARITY is inviting men and women to put their best foot forward to help raise funds.

Breast Cancer Care is hosting its first Pink Ribbonwalk sponsored by Santander in association with woman&home in the North West this summer at Cholmondeley Castle, near Malpas.

Walkers can take part in a 10 or 20-mile walk around the castle grounds on Saturday, June 4.

Pink Ribbonwalk project manager Lucy Johnston said: “By taking part in a Pink Ribbonwalk you can show your support for a loved one or help others living with breast cancer while enjoying a fun-filled afternoon walking with friends and family.”

Breast Cancer Care ambassador Denise Lewis said: “I loved walking the 10-mile route at Breast Cancer Care’s Pink Ribbonwalk last year.

“I took part in memory of my grandmother and it was a really special and uplifting day.

“Breast Cancer Care’s essential information and support services ensure Šthat no-one faces a breast cancer diagnosis alone.”

Jennifer Kemp, 65, of Bury, is taking part in her first walk in June.

Jennifer said: “I’ve not been to Cholmondeley Castle before, I’m looking forward to it.

“I want to raise some money for people in the future, you don’t realise what goes into treatment until you have breast cancer.

“I used the Breast Cancer Care website for research and it was good to read what other people have gone through.

“I would say to anyone thinking of taking part just do it! It’s a good place to get together.”

Registration costs £30 and walkers are required to raise a minimum of £175 worth of sponsorship to help fund Breast Cancer Care’s vital support services.

To take part, register online at www.pinkribbonwalk.org.uk or call 0870 145 0101.
