CHESTER’S Frodsham Street car park is to close for two days from Monday (January 31) for resurfacing work to take place.
Brook Street car park will also close from Tuesday (February 1) for two days for maintenance and resurfacing.
Alternative parking is available at a number of car parks in the surrounding area including the Northgate car park on Northgate Avenue, Garden Lane car park, Garden Lane or Gorse Stacks car park, near Cow Lane Bridge.
Hamilton Place car park, opposite the register office, is also available, although reserved for disabled badge holders only.
Councillor Lynn Riley, executive member for community and environment, said: “Public notices will advise users of the need for these car parks to close for vital resurfacing works.
“The car park will reopen following the two-day closures and we apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause in the meantime.”
Chester councillor Tom Parry said: “We welcome these vital maintenance works which, when completed, will enhance the experience of visiting the city centre for local residents and visitor alike.
“The impact of improved car park provision will also benefit trade for surrounding local businesses.”
