Helsby High School host a charity fashion to show to raise money for Oxfam

SIXTH-FORMERS at Helsby High School raised money for Oxfam to celebrate the charity’s Frodsham shop’s 25th anniversary in the town.

Following months of preparation by staff, students and sixth- formers, the Chester Road school staged a charity fashion show on Thursday, November 25, using collections of clothes available from the Eddisbury Square store.

Student organisers Bethany Lloyd and Rebecca Jones said: “Designer Kim Foulder, founder of ‘Dizzy Dishes’, showed several collections of her individual vintage inspired clothing range.

“With make-up by Mac, the models strutted their stuff down the catwalk to music by Ben Tynegate, alongside the somewhat interesting running commentary by Iain Hawkes and Marcus Lightfoot, sixth-form students.

“All in all there was a fun and vibrant feeling not only in the audience but also backstage.

“We are delighted to say that we have raised about £450 for the charity with which we will buy an ‘Oxfam unwrapped’ gift from the school.

“We want to thank everyone involved for making the show such a successful event, not only for the contributions to the charity but to all the helpers.”
