Chatwins staff host festive masterclass on ITV’s Daybreak programme

BAKERS from Chatwins have filmed a Christmas pudding masterclass for ITV’s Daybreak.

Filming took place at their bakery and Pepper Street shop in Nantwich on Thursday, November 25.

Chatwins chairman Edward Chatwin said: “It was a real compliment to get a phone call from ITV’s London office to ask to come and film at our bakery.

“I know our reputation locally is very good, but I didn’t realise it had spread as far as London!

“Our Christmas pudding recipe has been passed down four generations and won numerous awards so I don’t think they could have chosen anyone better.”

As well as passing on top tips for making Christmas puddings, craft bakers Paul Bates and Pat Peel also gave advice on the making of a Yuletide chocolate log.

Paul said: “It was a pleasure to share my 30 years experience and it was a challenge to adjust our recipes so they could be made in a domestic kitchen.”

The clips are due to be featured on Daybreak between December 6 and December 20.
