A SPEED initiative in Helsby caught out a Cheshire police staff member who was just one of eight motorists handed a £60 fine and three points on their licence last week.
The Cheshire Police Western Rural Neighbourhood Policing Unit scheme was as a result of residents in Helsby raising concerns over speeding motorists in the area.
PCSO James Tapley said: “We held two enforcement days, setting a practical speed limit threshold which if exceeded resulted in drivers getting a ticket.
“We handed out eight tickets.”
More speed enforcement operations will be taking place in the coming weeks.
