CONCERNS arose over the design of the roof of a small single storey extension at the rear of the Hoole Hall Hotel.
The extension, to provide a chef’s office and two refrigeration rooms, would be hidden at the rear of the hotel on Warrington Road, Hoole Village, Cheshire West and Chester Council was told.
The hotel and spa complex at the former country house includes the Grade II-listed Hoole Hall and modern extensions.
Conservation specialists and Mickle Trafford and District Parish Council raised concerns about the design of the roof which would include screening to conceal refrigeration equipment.
The roof would be similar to another on the other side of the hall and would preserve the setting of the listed building, according to a report.
Planners said the extension itself would be within the hotel buildings and would not be unacceptably detrimental to the visual amenity of the Green Belt.
Permission was recommended and the plans were approved.
