Sixty-year-old man arrested following two deaths on M6 in Cheshire

A 60-YEAR-old man from Selby arrested yesterday (Thursday, September 9) on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving on the M6 in Cheshire has been interviewed and granted police bail until November 17.

One of the casualties was a 69-year-old man from St Helens, the second casualty was a 39-year-old man from Ashton in Makerfield. Next of kin have been informed.

The M6 reopened fully at around 9.45pm.

Police continue to appeal for witnesses to the collision that took place at 11.16am yesterday, just north of junction 17, M6 northbound.
