University of Chester switches to new childcare voucher scheme

THE University of Chester has transferred its childcare voucher scheme to Apple Childcare Vouchers, based in Alderley Edge.

The university’s 1,500 employees will have the opportunity of benefiting through tax and NI free Apple Childcare Vouchers from September 2010 and Apple will be looking to increase the take up levels through marketing campaigns and on site visits.

The university made the decision to transfer to improve the level of service and to benefit from Apple’s unique sophisticated system whilst reducing costs.

Karen Cregan, assistant director human resource management services at the university, said: “The University of Chester is committed to providing family-friendly options for its staff and this represents the latest in a package of benefits which are available.”

Marcus Barrow, managing director at Apple Childcare Vouchers, said: “It’s great to have an organisation with the prestige of University of Chester.

“The university adds to Apple’s growing client portfolio and to the number of organisations that have transferred to Apple.”
