Hundreds of entries for Upton-by-Chester Horticultural Society summer show

THE store room at Upton Village Hall came into its own last week for the Upton Horticultural Society summer show.

With 633 entries, including 17 from children, exhibition space was at a premium and the store room had to be used for some displays.

Member Narayan Subramanian said: “Much credit goes to Bob Warboys and Geoff Formstone who plan, produce a booklet for entrants and, with the assistance of committee members, set up the show.

“Also our chairman Wendy Carman and her husband put in an extraordinary effort.”

Former Sheriff of Chester Cllr Hilarie McNae, a member of the society, presented winners with their cups and certificates.
