Chester Catholic High School pupil is a GCSE exam high flier

HARD work definitely paid off for one Chester schoolgirl after she gained 10 A* passes in her GCSE exams.

Catholic High School pupil Genevieve Garwood, 16, of Lache Lane, collected her results and was thrilled to have passed her exams with flying colours.

She took maths, English, English literature, music, French, geography, RE, biology, chemistry and physics and is now staying on at sixth form to study A-levels in French, maths, geography and chemistry.

“I have no idea what to do after that,” she admitted.

“I chose those subjects mainly because I felt they were my best subjects at school, particularly geography, which is a subject I really enjoy.”

Genevieve, a former Lache Primary School pupil, is also a talented musician.

She is a member of the school swing band and has achieved grade seven for saxophone and grade six for piano.

Her parents, Michael and Wendy, said they were “absolutely flabbergasted” at Genevieve’s results.

Said Wendy, “We are absolutely over the moon. We knew she would do well but she has done better than we could have imagined.”
