Coronation Street role for Chester Hammond School student

A CHESTER teenager has been on the country’s favourite street in his first TV appearance as an actor.

Sam Baker, of The Hammond School, had a supporting role in last Friday night’s episode of Coronation Street.

Seventeen-year old Sam, a former Bishops’ High School pupil, was a guest at the 16th birthday of Chesney Battersby Brown’s (Sam Aston) in Roy’s Rolls café.

Sam said: “I got to meet a couple of the younger members of the cast including Sam and they were all down to earth and sound. David Neilson (Roy Cropper) took time aside to chat to us when there was a break.”

Sam, who is studying for his A-levels, also has a part in the Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre production of Much Ado About Nothing.
