Chester Queen’s School’s Kate Enevoldson wins maths challenge

IT ALL adds up for Queen’s School pupil Kate Enevoldson.

The 15-year-old from Wirral has won first prize in the Senior Challenge, a mathematics competition organised by the University of Liverpool.

The challenge tests the mathematical ability of pupils in Years 9 and 10 across the North West and attracts several hundred entries each year.

Kate, a Year 10 pupil, received her prize at a ceremony in Liverpool.

She said: “There were some quite demanding questions but I enjoyed the challenge they presented.”

Outgoing headteacher Catherine Buckley added: “Kate is a very talented mathematician and she thoroughly deserves her success.”
