A VILLAGE country market stall holder has won Gold in the Guild of Fine Foods Great Taste awards.
Derek Spurdle from The Fudge Box in Chester won the Gold Star Award at the Guild of Fine Foods for his Blossom Honey and Amaretti Fudge – he is a regular stall holder at Tarporley Country Market.
Market organiser Karen Lamb said she was delighted for Derek.
She added: “The market is really going very well with lots of interactive stalls.
Mary Walton from Mary’s Homemade Cakes actually makes her scones from scratch at the market and oven bakes them there so customers can buy them hot.”
