CHESTER-based confectionery business FudgeBox has been awarded a sought after "Gold Star Award" at the Guild of Fine Foods "Great Taste Awards 2010" for its “Blossom Honey and Amaretti Fudge”
With its completely independent and uncompromisingly rigorous judging, the Great Taste Awards is considered the UK's most important and prestigious award scheme for speciality and fine foods.
Held annually, the 2010 Awards attracted over 6000 entries from food producers from all over the UK and FudgeBox was the only Fudge Maker in the North West to reach the notoriously high "Gold Star" standard set by the Guild of Fine Foods. Derek Spurdle, confectioner and owner of FudgeBox, said after the award was announced: "Being awarded a gold star in such a prestigious event is another fantastic achievement for FudgeBox, especially coming so soon after our "Best Fudge and All Other Confectionery" success in the FoodNW Fine Food Awards. It has made out first year in business better than we could have possibly imagined and gives us a fantastic base to build on for the future".Š More information about FudgeBox, including a list of local stockists, can be found on their website at : www.fudgebox.co.uk.
