Vauxhall worker now in stable condition at Countess of Chester hospital after incident at Ellesmere Port factory

A VAUXHALL worker is recovering in hospital after suffering a heart attack in the Ellesmere Port factory.

The male, reported to be in his 60s, was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital after an industrial incident occurred at the plant, on North Road, yesterday at about 10.50am.

His condition was critical but it has now been confirmed by staff at the car manufacturing plant that he is now in a stable condition.

North West Ambulance and Cheshire Constabulary attended the scene yesterday and a full investigation into the circumstances has been launched.

Cheshire Constabulary spokeswoman Shelley Williams said: “The Health and Safety Executive has been notified and police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.”
