Safety first for Queen’s School rhino
A RHINO on Chester’s Rhino Mania trail is on the move in the name of health and safety.
Ewan, sponsored by North West Gas Alliance, was designed by artist Isabel Gelder and painted by girls from The Queen’s School.
With a bright yellow body covered with road signs, Ewan is guarding roadworks on Cuppin Street as engineers replace gas mains.
Construction engineer Vicky Lloyd said: “We will be in Cuppin Street for about five weeks and then Ewan will follow us to Grosvenor Street and Bridge Street.”
Screwed to a concrete base, Ewan will be moved with the help of a grab lorry.
Ewan is Vicky’s brainchild and is named after Ewan Worth, North West Gas Alliance regional supervisor.
