Newton Primary School’s Aimee Kiernan wins Cheshire Junior Recycling Officer of the Year

A NEWTON Primary School pupil has been crowned queen of the recyclers.

Aimee Kiernan, of Year 6, was named Cheshire Junior Recycling Officer of the Year.

She and four other finalists had to create a display of their achievements during the year and give a 10 minute presentation to judges Jodie Sherratt and Mike McManus from the Waste Strategy Unit and Delamere Ranger Jo Holland.

Aimee has played a lead role in the school composting, paper recycling & stamp recycling campaigns. She has also been involved in school assemblies about saving water and how to dispose of waste electrical items. Her prize was a bike from the Bike Factory in Boughton.
