A MAN is in a critical condition in hospital after being involved in an incident at the Vauxhall factory in Ellesmere Port.
It is understood that the male employee was injured at about 10.50am today (Thurs) after using machinery inside the manufacturing plant, on North Road.
Cheshire Constabulary and emergency services were called to the factory and the man was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital where his condition is described as being critical.
Police have launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The worker’s identity is not yet known.
Cheshire Constabulary spokeswoman Shelley Williams said: “At 10.50am today, Cheshire Police were informed of an incident that had taken place at Vauxhall Motors Manufacturing plant, North Road, Ellesmere Port.
“A male employee was injured in an industrial incident and has been taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital for treatment. His condition is described as critical.
“The Health and Safety executive have been notified and police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.”
