NEIGHBOURS from Chester's Garden Quarter are invited to a Big Lunch on Sunday (July 18).
Everyone is invited to bring a contribution to a large buffet on Cambrian Road, from 1-4pm.
Chester's Wall City Jazzmen will provide entertainment throughout the afternoon.
Event organiser Matt Baker said: "Even with the biblical downpour last year we were thrilled with the enormous turnout. This year we have full contingency plans in case the heavens open.”
Neighbours will be joined by people from the residential homes and members of the three church congregations in the area who will also be helping organise the event.
The Big Lunch follows the successful Summer Promises and Barn Dance at St Thomas of Canterbury Church, which raised more than £1,500 towards community funds.
The main event, scheduled for September 18, will be the Cambrian Street Festival, celebrating the 10th anniversary of street events in the neighbourhood, followed by the annual sports day at the University of Chester in October.
