Dodleston artist wins highly commended award at prestigious competition

LARGELY self-taught equestrian and feline artist June Fox received an award at the annual exhibition of The Wildlife Art Society International held at Nature in Art in Gloucestershire.

Coming tops against worldwide competitors, Dodleston based June, a lover of animals and staunch supporter of the RSPCA, we ‘absolutely thrilled’ to win the highly commended award for her painting Neofelis Nebulosa, Latin for the Clouded Leopard found in the jungles of SouthEast Asia.

She said: “It was lovely to receive a medal instead of a piece of paper, and to exhibit at such a prestigious exhibition.”

A previous prize winner at the Grosvenor Arts and Deeside Art Group, June grew up in Cambridgeshire where her love of animals, horses and cats in particular was formed.
