DAIRY co-operative and cheese manufacturer Milk-Link, triumphed at the Cheshire Show.
The strong set of results included eight awards for Milk Link’s Reece’s Creamery in Malpas with four prizes being awarded for its Cheshire cheese, confirming the Creamery as the ‘real home of Cheshire Cheese’.
The Creamery, which uses traditional methods and family values to produce a wide variety of territorial cheeses, including Cheshire, Caerphilly, Lancashire and Wensleydale, was awarded the Ruth Harrison Silver Salver for coming first in the Mature Cheshire Cheese category, the Cheshire Agricultural Society Champion Cheshire Cheese trophy, silver in the Mature Cheshire Cheese category, and bronze in the Single Cheshire Cheese category.
Further awards for the Creamery included gold and silver prizes in the Single Acid Lancashire category.
The results delighted the Chief Executive of Milk Link, Neil Kennedy who said: “Our expert cheese makers deserve this recognition for their flair, dedication and skills which deliver the really exceptional taste and quality of our products.
“We are delighted that the excellence of our Cheshire cheese in particular, has been acknowledged here at the Cheshire County Show as it marks Reece’s Creamery as the true home of regional Cheshire cheeses. Myself and everyone involved with Milk Link are very proud of these results.”
