Newton Primary School children brighten up the city

CREATIVE children at Newton Primary School have contributed to Chester’s summer of fun in a big way.

Year 3 youngsters designed a giant child, covered in friendship bricks, for the recent Chester Giant Parade while their Year 1 schoolmates were busy making sunny faces with artist Wendy Amner for the Midsummer Watch Parade.

Inspired by the natural environment Year 2 pupils have designed a rhino for next week’s Rhino Mania stampede, which is due to hit the city.

Rhino Blossom is covered in the children’s collage flowers which follow a colourful trail around her body.
