World Cup fever at Mickle Trafford school fair

JUDGING from the form at Mickle Trafford Village School’s football tournament, Spain is in with a chance of winning the World Cup.

The Spanish team beat Germany in the final of the contest, which featured eight international teams.

The event kicked off with the crowning of Rose Queen Jessica Chadwick, which was performed by outgoing queen Charlotte Reeves.

Jess was attended by Rosebud Molli O’Dell, page boys Edward Gordon and Edward Ross and attendants Freya Beyeler, Molly Bowes, Niamh Clerkin, Leah Fidling, Sophie Freeman, Cassie Lloyd Watson, Caitlyn Mathews, Lexi Pliszczynski, Inisha Tomlinson and Ellie Unsworth.

The event, with traditional games and stalls, raised about £3,500 for the school which will go towards an outdoor play area.
