Mill View Primary School pupils share computer skills with Kelsall Primary

CHESTER pupils have taken their computer skills to the countryside as part of a virtual learning project.

Youngsters from Mill View Primary in Upton made the short journey to Kelsall Primary to pass on their Information Communication Technology expertise.

Pupils at Mill View have been using their own usernames and passwords to access their schools learning platform.

Within these areas they can exchange messages with friends, complete and submit homework and build their own Wikipedia sites and e-portfolios.

Teacher Chris Timms and his class to instructed Kelsall pupils on the best ways to use the internet with emphasis placed on e-safety.

The new skills are now expected to passed on to other pupils and staff at Kelsall.

Acting headteacher David Wearing said: “The use of the learning platform has really engaged our Year 5 class here at Kelsall.

“The flexibility and applications available within the learning platform allow teachers to extend learning far beyond the traditional realms of teaching and learning. The possibilities are endless. We hope to emulate the successes that Mill View have had within their learning platform journeys.”
