Actress Carley Stenson to leave Chester-based Hollyoaks at end of the year

HOLLYOAKS actress Carley Stenson, who plays Steph Cunningham (nee Dean) in the popular Chester-based Channel 4 teen drama, has announced that she is to leave the show at the end of the year.

Stephanie Dean arrived in Hollyoaks in 2000 and has experienced some of life’s most difficult challenges including the emotional breakdown of her parents’ marriage, the realisation of her epilepsy, love, heartbreak and the death of her husband Max on their wedding day.

Carley Stenson said: “Leaving Hollyoaks is one of the most difficult decisions I have ever made.

“It has been my dream job for 10 years and I shall miss all of the fantastic friends I have made in the cast and crew.

“I am very sad to leave but I’m ready for new challenges and I’m looking forward to pursuing a career in musical theatre.”
