City neighbours on song for community event

CITY neighbours enjoyed a classic evening to raise funds for a community event.

Hosts Tim and Chris Mann opened their home to neighbours and friends who enjoyed an evening of classical music to raise cash for September’s Cambrian Community Festival.

Guests were welcomed by a string quartet playing in the garden before Brian Pearson and William Jones, 14, officially opened proceedings with a fanfare especially written for the occasion by composer Matt Baker. Local musicians and singers provided the entertainment and the event raised £666.

Fundraisers to come include a barn dance at St Thomas of Canterbury Church and a concert at Garden Lane Methodist Church on August 20.
