Primark in Chester opens to the public

THE new Primark store in Chester has officially opened its doors to the public.

A steady queue of shoppers had formed prior to the 9am launch as they waited excitedly for the unveiling of the Foregate Street store, which was once occupied by Woolworths.

The opening brings to an end 15 months of work behind the scenes on the store since the planning application was first submitted in December 2008.

The Primark Chester store covers 35,600 sq ft over two floors.

A staggering 2,345 applicants applied for 190 vacancies on offer at the giant fashion retailer.
