Upton-by-Chester Horticultural Society Spring Show

A SEVERE winter meant fewer exhibits at Upton-by-Chester Horticultural Society’s spring show this year.

The event, at Upton Village Hall, was well attended however and many members had worked hard to produce a variety of spring flowers.

The winner of the Perpetual Challenge Cup for the exhibitor with most points in the show was David Pendlebury.

Heather Sayle, wife of Rev David Sayle, vicar of the Church of the Holy Ascension in Upton, presented winners with their trophies.

Jacob Thompson and Megan Ryan won trophies in the under-sevens category and the rosette for the best exhibit in show was won by John White.
