Tarvin man Roger sets off on 1,200 mile crusade from Chester to Rome
A TARVIN man left Chester’s amphitheatre yesterday morning to embark on an epic crusade to Rome.
Parish councillor Roger Hones is cycling the 1,200 miles to raise money for the Combined Services Disabled Ski Team.
Roger was offered the chance to take part in the Home to Rome cycle challenge by fellow Ski Club of Great Britain members.
He will ride through France and Switzerland before arriving in Rome on May 30.
“It’s going to be tough but I thought it would be a great thing to do for such a great cause,” he said.
