PUPILS at Newton Primary School are taking giant steps.
Youngsters in Year 3 are working with Kristine Szulik and students from the University of Chester to decorate a jolly green giant.
The giant will be a marker for the Chester Half Marathon at the end of May, and will be on display in Chester Cathedral during the first two weeks in June. It will also take part in the city’s Midsummer Watch Parade.
The project is part of Chester the Giant City, which celebrates the city’s Family of Giants.
At Newton, the children are exploring what giants are and how they operate. They are also researching what is giant about the local community.
