SIX teachers from Abbey Gate College in Chester took part in a three mile run as part of Sport Relief.
Gavin Allmand, Gareth Barton, John Gallagher, Karl Gray, Louise Poyser and Pamela Selby took part in the race for Save The Family, which is the college’s nominated charity for this year.
John Gallagher said: “The atmosphere was great. It was a pleasure to raise money for such a worthy charity.”
Despite it not being a race, PE teacher Gareth Barton came second and said: “It was good, but I wish I’d done the six mile race.”
As well as the teachers, some of the students also signed up to run and do their bit for charity.
From the run, the teachers have already raised £850, but the college is planning various other events to help raise money for the charity.
These will include tuck shops and holding a garden fete in May, which will include vintage cars and a gymnastics display.
Save The Family is a charity which helps keeps homeless families together and prevents children being taken into care.
