SPORT Relief saw hundreds of fun runners raise thousands of pounds for charity at Helsby Community Sports Club.
The Chester Road club hosted the event which saw families, friends and work mates take on the Sport Relief Mile after a warm up from Terry Samuels of 10 Bridge Clinic.
Michelle Pickstock of the sports club said: “Milers of all ages rose to the challenge and were sponsored to do one, three or six miles for Sport Relief. The weather was kind and the day was a massive success with friends, families and work mates joining together in friendly rivalry to rise to the challenge.
“Terry Samuels was Helsby’s answer to Mr Motivator as he hosted a mass warm up session with the Chester Goddess Cheerleaders, before Alan Gardiner, chairman of Helsby Parish Council, got the event under way.”
All the money raised in Helsby will help transform lives here in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries.
Refreshments were on sale at the event, on Sunday, March 21, as well as a face-painter and free health checks from the 10 Bridge Clinic.
