A CRITICALLY ill man is fighting for his life in hospital after a he was assaulted in a Chester pub on Friday night.
The 38-year-old man from Wrexham suffered serious head injuries in an incident at about 11.30pm in the Temple Bar pub on Frodsham Street, Chester city centre.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “Police were called to the premises and found a man with a serious head injury. He was taken by ambulance to the Countess of Chester hospital and subsequently transferred to Walton hospital.
“Following police inquiries a 30-year-old man from Chester was arrested and is continuing to assist police with their inquiries.”
