Tribute after fatal collision at Kelsall kills teenager Alice Worthington from Winsford

TRIBUTES have been paid to a 17-year-old passenger killed on a Cheshire road.

Alice Worthington, of Swanlow Lane, Winsford, died when the blue Mini One in which she was travelling with friends came off the A54 near Gresty's Waste, Kelsall at 9.20pm on Wednesday, March 3.

The car overturned and landed in woodland.

The driver, an 18-year-old local girl, and the other two female passengers, aged 17 and 18 – all from Northwich – escaped with minor injuries.

Three ambulances attended the scene but Alice suffered a cardiac arrest and was later pronounced dead at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

On Friday more than 700 people attended a funeral service for Alice, a student of Sir John Deane’s College in Northwich, addressed by her boyfriend Sam.

In a statement, her family said: “Alice was a beautiful young lady with a radiant smile and a lovely personality, she brought us lots of happiness. She had great determination although she was emotional and very caring.

“Mark, her brother, recently moved to his own house with his girlfriend Katie and she found that very difficult as they were very close, he always looked after his little sister.”

The statement added: “Alice’s short life was cut short, but she had crammed so much into it. We used to feel tired just listening, she always had parties to go to, all the girls getting ready here and us providing taxis, but we just always wanted them to be protected and safe.

“Our lives will never be the same again, but we know that she touched the hearts of so many and spread her happiness around, she will never be forgotten and she will live in our hearts forever. God bless you our little princess and keep smiling.”
