Chester Grosvenor Shopping Centre announces its VIP parking space winner

THE Chester Grosvenor Shopping Centre has awarded one lucky winner a VIP free parking space worth over £1,400 in the centre's newly refurbished car park for a whole year.

Caz Owens was announced as the winner of Chester Radio Station Dee 106.3FM Luv Ur Car competition.

Caz will now receive free parking at the centre for a year in a VIP specially designated area.

Caz said: “I can’t believe I’ve won this competition. I enjoy visiting the Grosvenor Shopping Centre so often that this will be of real benefit to myself and my family.”

The Luv Ur Car competition coincides with the £1million refurbishment of the Grosvenor Shopping Centre's Newgate Street car park.

With updated lifts, improved security and the introduction of family parking spaces the changes have been welcomed by customers.

Among the other improvements include new fire alarms, enhanced CCTV surveillance, and an increase in the number of disabled car park spaces.

Energy-efficient lighting systems are now in place along with clearer pedestrian walkways.

The car park will be brightened up further with a local schools art competition, led by local artist Russell Kirk.

Pupils from the surrounding area have been invited to design a drawing which they think best represents Chester.

The winning schools will have the drawings recreated within the car park.

Julie Webb, Grosvenor Shopping Centre manager, said: “We are delighted with the refurbishment of the Grosvenor Shopping Centre Car Park. For Caz to win the VIP car park space is the icing on the cake.

“We are thrilled for her and family and hope both they and all our customers are impressed with the car park refurbishment.”
