Recycling pays off for Chester charities

RECYCLED clothes and textiles have helped bring in the cash for city charities.

Emma White of Chronicle-backed Miles of Smiles received a cheque for £300 from Charlotte Brown of The Dee-Tex project, which is based in River Lane in Saltney. The textiles are recycled through pink recycling banks. Sainsbury's staff members also received a similar amount on behalf of their official charity Chester Aid to the Homeless.

Emma said: “There are five recycling banks in Saltney, Blacon and Buckley which give us a regular annual income and we are looking for further sites in Chester.”
