Driver arrested after Sealand crash in which Deeside teenager Danny Evans died
THE driver of the car in which Danny Evans died was arrested on suspicion of causing his death by dangerous driving.
North Wales Police confirmed an 18-year-old was released on bail after his arrest on Thursday last week, three days after the fatal collision.
Talented athlete Danny, 18, of Normanby Drive, Connah’s Quay, died when the black Renault Clio he was a passenger in overturned at about 9.20pm on Monday, February 15, on the A548 Sealand Road.
The Deeside College student was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver and two other male passengers were injured.
A North Wales Police spokesman said on Friday: “An 18-year-old man has been bailed after being arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.”
The driver and the two other passengers were taken to the hospital after the crash.
The driver was released prior to his arrest, when one passenger was in a ‘stable’ condition at Whiston Hospital, Wirral, and the other remained at the Countess of Chester Hospital.
Flowers and tributes still mark the spot where Danny died, and hundreds of people have joined online groups created in his memory.
