Blacon teenager Naomi Heap overcomes illness to reach Top Model UK finals

FORMER Miss Chester Naomi Heap is in the running to become the UK’s next Top Model after overcoming an illness that could have destroyed her dreams.

The 19-year-old from Blacon has managed to win herself a place in the finals of the Top Model UK 2010.

Naomi wowed the judges at her audition with her promising fashion-model potential.

But prior to this she was diagnosed with a temporary illness that caused her to break out into spots, which almost crippled her chances of going through to the finals.

Acne sufferer Naomi approached Chester skin care clinic SkinGenesis, who agreed to provide complimentary treatments in order to give her the best possible chances of success in the competition.

Naomi said: “I really lost my confidence and thought my dreams were shattered. I managed to find the courage to go to the audition and luckily they must have realised my potential, as they put me through on the condition that I sorted out my skin.

“This is my dream, so that’s exactly what I set out to do.”

Deborah Cope, clinic manager at SkinGenesis, said: “It is important not to let complaints such as acne get you down and Naomi is living proof that it needn’t hold you back.”

The Top Model UK final takes place on March 13 and 14.

Grand finalists in each of the three categories receive professional runway training, photo shoot opportunities, and careers advice from industry experts, as well as media exposure and coaching and a year’s free listing on the Star Now international model database. www.topmodeluk.com.
