YOUNGSTERS braved the cold to bake bread as part of their school’s outdoor education project.
As part of the county-wide Forest School initiative, pupils of Tarvin Primary School have been venturing outside the classroom to gain new skills and learn about native Americans.
Forester Simon Harding, who manages the Broomheath Plantation in nearby Stapleford, is leading the Forest School project and has been taking two-hour sessions during a five-week period.
Headteacher Jean Neild said: “We are taking the children outside and making the most of our wooded area but also teaching them skills that are useful outside and giving them these experiences in a safe environment.”
