FRIENDS of stabbing victim Fynn Western-Davey are invited to join his family for a memorial service at Chester Cathedral next week.
The victim’s father Simon Western told The Chronicle his 23-year-old son was ‘a very loved person’ and ‘a lot of people’ were likely to attend.
No funeral arrangements have been made as yet but the memorial service takes place at 11am on Tuesday.
A fund in memory of Fynn Western-Davey has been set up by his father and mum Louise Davey, called the Fynn Fund, to transform the lives of the street children of Nepal where Fynn visited as a child.
An explanation written by Fynn’s parents said: “Fynn travelled to Nepal at the age of seven, he loved the mountains and the new culture he experienced.
“While there he climbed with his dad to the Annapurna Base Camp, an extraordinary feat for such a young child.
“When back in Katmandu Fynn became friends with local Nepalese children and in particular one young rickshaw driver and his friends.
“Fynn saw beyond the poverty, he transcended language barriers and played with these children as friends like any others back home.”
They added: “Throughout Fynn’s life he reached out to others with his cheeky smile and his generous and easygoing manner.
“As a tribute to Fynn we are asking you to make a donation so that we can transform others’ lives. In Nepal a small amount of money goes a long way.”
Fynn’s parents will liaise with a well- established local charity but are considering setting up a small charitable foundation of their own.
They are both experienced in working with deprived young people, in education and in business consultancy.
