Hawarden woman opens up new business in Deeside
A FORMER council worker who decided she wanted an alternative career has opened up a new business in her home town.
Gill Fraser, 40, worked for Chester City Council for 19 years before opting to retrain as a therapist, specialising in complementary treatments.
And now she has opened up her new clinic, Cherry Floatation, at The Highway in Hawarden.
Floatation therapy is designed to relax the body and mind. Clients relax in a bath where the water has been mixed with special salts that have a high density, allowing them to float effortlessly on the surface.
Gill says her clinic is the only place in Flintshire which specialises in floatation therapy. Before it opened the nearest was in St Helens.
Gill, who is also a qualified reflexologist and Reiki master, said: “Floatation therapy has a range of great medical benefits. It’s good for arthritis and the joints, a lot of sports people and athletes use it.
Gill says, tests have also shown spells in a floatation pool can lower blood pressure, reduce anxiety and improve circulation. People suffering from previous injuries and, in particular, back problems have championed the treatment.
“And, above all, it’s relaxing,” said Gill. “You won’t believe how much you’ll get out of it until you try it.”
