Dating website Match.com pays for Chester man’s New York girlfriend to visit for Valentine’s Day

A COUPLE are flying high after a kind-hearted romantic gesture.

Jeremy Miller, 35, of City Road, Chester, met Susan Gross on dating website Match.com last March.

The couple hit it off straight away and spent the next three months emailing and speaking three times a week over Skype.

The only problem is Susan lives in New York.

Susan travelled to London last July and met Jeremy, a senior environment artist at Evolution Studios in Runcorn, for the first time in person at Euston station.

From that moment onward the pair were inseparable and on the third day of her trip Jeremy proposed to her in Paris at the Eiffel Tower.

Susan said yes and the couple plan to marry this year.

They have only met four times in total since their engagement due to job commitments and limited funds.

Over the festive period Susan came to the UK to spend her first Christmas with Jeremy however on returning to the US she lost her job as she had been unable to work during the Christmas period.

She does not have the funds to fly over for Valentine’s Day so Match.com offered to fly Susan over to spend the day with Jeremy.

Jeremy said: “It’s been a wonderful surprise having Match.com fly Susan over.

“We expected to be 3,000 miles apart, but now we can be together, making it a Valentine’s Day to remember.”

Match.com head of relationships Katie Sheppard said: “When Susan and Jeremy wrote to tell us their love story they captured our hearts.Š

“We couldn’t stand by and let a little thing like 3,315 miles get in the way of their first Valentine’s Day, so we’ve brought them together. Š

“We wish them a lovely day together.”
