STAFF and residents of Bupa’s Crawfords Walk Nursing Home in Chester are gearing up to take part in a special pancake race next week to mark Shrove Tuesday.
The care home is one of 50 across the UK that are organising ‘golden oldies’ pancake races, adding up the ages of everyone taking part to see if they can claim the ‘Bupa’s oldest pancake race’ title.
Joyce Meade, activity co-ordinator for Crawfords Walk, said, “We’re trying to get as many residents as possible involved, with a little bit of help from the staff of course, but it will be a great way to celebrate the day.
“Everyone else will be cheering us on and we’ll also be donning our aprons, choosing our favourite pancake fillings and sampling them all to round off the party.”
