Guilden Sutton pensioner left devastated after theft of gold model plane

A 94-YEAR-old man has been left devastated after a gold model plane handmade by his father was stolen from his Guilden Sutton home.

The plane is a gold replica of a Beaufighter aircraft which the owner flew during the Second World War.

It was taken from a house between Christmas and January 16.

Sgt Mandy Shaw said: “This plane has enormous sentimental value to the owner and he is obviously very upset that it has been taken.

“We are working with local pawn and jewellery shops to see if anyone has attempted to sell the plane in recent weeks.”

“This is a distinctive model so I would urge anyone who has been offered this for sale or who has seen anyone with the plane to contact us immediately.”

“This gentleman is desperate to get his prized possession back.”

The plane measures 4cm long with a 6cm wingspan and is made of gold. Anyone with information is asked to contact PCSO Dave Smith or Sgt Amanda Shaw on 01244 61 6001 or 0845 458 6394 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
