Chester’s Pied Bull pub on Northgate Street hosts beer festival

A CHESTER pub is toasting its freehold status with a beer festival.

The Pied Bull, on Northgate Street, is holding its first beer festival since becoming a freehold in August.

Landlord Carl Scourfield said: “After being tied for nearly three years since we bought the lease it is nice to be able to buy from wherever you want!”

The festival started yesterday and runs until Sunday, February 7.

Carl said: “Next month we will be introducing our own beer called Pied Eyed which will be brewed by Facers Brewery.”

The Pied Bull team hopes Camra members will visit during the festival. Each pint costs £2.70.

Carl added: “We hope to get in the Good Beer Guide next year!
